Bukbuddies features mostly straight guys (there are a few bisexual and gay guys) and the guys are mostly in their 20s and 30s, performing solo for the camera. Overall, the guys are attractive, butch and old enough to have that self-assurance that twinks have not yet learned. In the videos that I sampled, we learn about one of the guy's new shotgun and, in another, a confession about how his kinky girlfriend got him drunk and stuck a dildo up his ass, all of the time claiming he would not have done it if he had not been drinking. This commentary is genuine and endearing. The models for the most part exude personality. And of special note... the straight guys here are not straight guys that the site is trying to seduce to perform gay acts for pay. They are 100% straight guys presented as 100% straight guys.

The layout for the site is unique and takes some time to absorb. The photos are presented in several layers rather than one gallery. You click on one gallery photo and that presents you with a new set of photos that you must click to view the final set of photos. This layout does work because the scenarios presented in this site are quite unique and creative, often transitioning with a change in clothing from one scenario to another. For instance, in one guy's spread, he transitions from the computer to a cowboy outfit to army fatigues to naked before our eyes. For those who enjoy the same photographed couch or the same photographed poster bed, this site potentially could drive you crazy. For those of us with ADD, the various shooting locations and changes with a model's set are refreshing and retain our interest.

The photography and videography is excellent, though in some of the videos that I sampled you can hear the distracting click of a still camera in the background. Still much of it is photographed in HD and you feel like you are right there.

While I anticipated that this site was good because we use many of its sample photos in our blog, I was pleasantly surprised that it exceeded my expectations, not an easy accomplishment after 12 years of viewing sites.

Bukbuddies made me 

As a web designer who works very closely with an independant amateur site (and not the one under review here, pals) I'm apt to be a bit more critical than many would be - because I know all the pitfalls, wind traps and tarpits involved.

Bukbuddies is a place which constantly causes me to mutter I would have certainly done that differently - except when you get to the meat of the matter, that being the actual men shown on the pages.

The guys you'll find at Bukbuddies are exactly the bastards I drool over and scandalize when I make my weekly trek out to a bevy of sports bars to torment the local straight and straight-acting neighborhood boys. Out of the 200-plus galleries, I found about a dozen guys I wouldn't buy a drink with the hopes it would lead to more drinks and continental breakfast at some hotel in the morning.

I'll also let on that I'm a fan of "situational media," by which I mean photos and videos captured outside of a studio. I love shoots which involve some creativity - and you'll find a good dose of that at Bukbuddies.

Some of the photography and videography lacks skill, although most of the media is at least what I'll call "industry standard" - no better but certainly no worse than most other sites offer.

The real peach here is variety - both in the guys shown, and the situation-slash-plot presented. As they say, spice is the variety, yadda-yadda, and this is a spicey peach, indeed!

You find an odd combination of "well thought-through" and "oops!" spontenaity, which is very refreshing (and erotic) in this era of ours when on-purpose low quality is passed off as amateur and Gay 4 Pay is the rule of the day.

The Bukbuddies website is unique and you'll have to learn your way around - but the payoff is finding yourself thrilling to something which is truly one of a kind, in this templated, mass-market day and age.
